Kindergarten
8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 5 days per week
Kindergarten program is for students that turn age 5 by September 30th of the academic year.
Children participating in the Kindergarten program attend a Primary class for the full school day, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This schedule provides a BEAUTIFUL BALANCE between the larger class experiences in the morning followed by the smaller group experience in the afternoon. These afternoon hours allow our oldest (non-napping) students the time to delve further into their Montessori work, with even more individualized attention from the teacher.
After the noon dismissal of the younger students, the afternoon schedule includes lunchtime, followed by additional individual and small group Montessori work time. Our Full-Day (non-napping) students attend longer enrichment classes in both Music and Spanish. This separate time with both the Music and Spanish Enrichment Teachers provides an invaluable opportunity for our oldest students to participate in more advanced learning in both these programs.
WHY MONTESSORI KINDERGARTEN IS IMPORTANT
-
We believe strongly that remaining in the Montessori program for this crucial Kindergarten year provides the opportunity for children to reap the benefits of all the groundwork laid during the student’s earlier years in the program.
-
In addition to the academic growth and acquisition of knowledge, the children have the important opportunity to be role models and teachers for their younger classmates, developing early leadership skills and increasing their self-confidence.
-
Participating in this program enables children to develop more as independent and capable decision-making individuals and “sets in” these skills as the child transitions into the second plane of development.
